Animals in the Qur’an: Dog (كَلْبٌ)

Children learn about the dog’s senses, loyalty and role in human life. The Qur’an mentions the dog of the People of the Cave and likens heedless people to dogs in their desires. Hadiths also show when dogs may be kept for benefit, such as hunting or guarding. It teaches lessons on loyalty, moderation and respecting Allah’s guidance.
